Technology

Technology in the classroom is important for many reasons. Technology creates a more engaging environment for students, allows teachers to incorporate different learning styles more easily, prepares children for the future, and connects teachers with students. Additionally, technology helps students develop personal and social responsibility, critical thinking and decision-making skills, communication skills, and cross-cultural understanding.

Recognizing this importance and these benefits, Holy Spirit School students:

  • Are in the computer lab one day a week
  • Are split into smaller groups in computer lab for more personal attention (half of the class at a time)
  • Grades K-3 use desktop computers to aid in familiarity and competence with keyboarding
  • Grades 4-8 use Dell tablets

Holy Spirit School, thanks to our community’s generous families and friends, is in the middle of a three-year technology improvement plan to enhance instruction and maintain technology leadership among area schools. The goal is to have a Smartboard in every classroom by the end of the 2023-2024 school year and upgraded Chromebooks available for every student by the end of the 2024-2025 school year.
